About Me:

Professor Chowdhury is a distinguished name in the field of Orthopedic Surgery in Bangladesh, known for his exceptional clinical acumen, academic excellence, and visionary leadership. He is a renowned Orthopaedic, Trauma & Spine Surgeon. He was graduated from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College in 1988. After completion of internship, he joined Bangladesh Government Health Service (9th BCS Health Cadre) in 1991 january.

With an unrelenting passion for orthopedic excellence, he pursued his MS in Orthopedic Surgery from the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR). in 2007.Dr. Chowdhury further honed his expertise through advanced training in spine surgery in Singapore and multiple other specialized trainings across the globe, including in Canada, Malaysia, Spain, and Switzerland. These international experiences enriched his surgical approach and helped integrate cutting-edge techniques into his practice in Bangladesh. He served his duties successfully as Junior consultant & Senior Consultant at Jamalpur Medical College Hospital about seven years.

His academic career is equally remarkable. He was a medical teacher & served with distinction at Mymensingh Medical College & Jamalpur Medical College as Lecturer, Associate professor & Professor for about thirteen years.He successfully performed his duties as Professor & Head of Orthopedic Surgery Department and also as Principal of Jamalpur Medical college. Throughout his tenure, he mentored countless young doctors and surgeons, many of whom are now making significant contributions to the healthcare system at home and abroad.

Professor Dr A S M Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury has retired from Government Health service as Principal from Jamalpur Medical College on 27, October, 2023. Professor Dr. ASM Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury started his journey in International Medical College Hospital as Professor & Head of Department of Orthopedic Surgery on 01 November 2023

He also honoured as Principal In addition to Professor of Orthopedic surgery from 01 February 2024 This dual leadership role, he is dedicated to advancing medical education and elevating the standard of orthopedic care to a new heights.

Highly respected by his peers, admired by his students, and trusted by his patients, Dr. Chowdhury's name stands as a symbol of integrity, compassion, and surgical excellence. He is happily married and blessed with only son. He was a National player of Table Tennis and loves travel & teaching.
